by Donna Amis Davis Neva’s Place Pizza Oven Survived the Fire! One of our family’s favorite restaurants in Puerto Princesa is Neva’s Place. A little over a year ago, the restaurant was destroyed by a fire. The original building, originally the family ancestral home, was made of wood and native bamboo. It burned to the ground. Thankfully, no one was hurt. But the piano my husband enjoyed playing, the artwork lovingly painted by the owner’s son, and everything else, was destroyed. All except the more recent addition of the brick pizza oven, which made it through the fire in good shape. You can see my earlier post about Neva’shere.
Wood-Fired Pizza at Neva’s Place The owners, Jane Timbancaya-Urbanek, and her daughter, Neva, told us that the cooks and employees helped to quickly get the restaurant up and running again. At first they just could serve pizza, but soon the whole menu was available again.
Neva’s Place is a little off the beaten path, but not hard to find. And definitely worth the effort. It is located on Taft Street, which runs parallel to Rizal Avenue. It is between Roxas Avenue (now named Manalo Avenue – though locals still call it Roxas) and Sandoval. The address is 48 Taft Avenue.
Neva’s Place Artwork and Rustic Bench, Puerto Princesa, Palawan We loved the mural painting on wall. Good to see art coming back to Neva’s Place!
Al Fresco Dining at Neva’s Place, Puerto Princesa, Palawan When we visited Puerto Princesa earlier this year, we ate several meals at Neva’s. Our favorites are the Lemon Grass Chicken and the Red Chicken Curry. The pizzas are terrific, too.
Neva’s Place Palawan Lemongrass Chicken Seating is in the garden, for a tropical, alfresco experience.
Good to know: Neva’s delivers, and you can also make take-out orders.Phone number: 433-2575.

I know, I love that mural. You’ll have to visit there sometime. Yes, I just (finally!) moved over to WP.org, and I’m having fun with all the plugins and extra features I can now use! I hope my traffic follows me – so far it’s kind of lonely over here. . .

The subscribers have migrated. But so far I’m not getting any views from web searches. Google is complicated, and apparently, if there is double posting, will pick the oldest post, so it was sending searches over to the old blog. Today I deleted that blog, so we’ll see what happens next! It’s all a big learning curve for me.

This looks like a good place to eat if I ever got to Palawan, it is nice that this family works so close together in rebuilding what the fire destroyed, but fire could not break the family desire to do the best. I see you are back in San Diego and their are plenty of places to eat in San Diego and I love to eat at Anthony’s when we visit my son and family, Sounds to me like you have had an interesting life.

Hi Dorothy,
We love Anthony’s too! It’s been in San Diego so long, I remember going there when I was just a small child with my parents. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments.

I think your traffic follows you since your subscribers remain, or am I wrong? Otherwise it means you’re back to zero..
