Snake Island, in Honda Bay, Puerto Princesa, Palawan is the inspiration for a scene I wrote in my novel this week. The heroine and a guy she might be falling for take a long walk along the beach, then sit and talk on some big rocks under a tree.
I renamed the place Serpent Island because I needed some rocks to sit on and some shade trees, which Snake Island lacks. Hey, this is fiction. It’s OK.
The true place is beautiful, as you can see in the picture above.

Best for snorkeling is in Honda Bay North. We where diving and snorkling in Binduyan.
Huge reef about 6km along Tarabanan-Binduyan-Langogan. Nice dropoffs and reefs for divers too.
